The abdominal ultrasound scan in London is performed by a radiologist.
Abdominal and pelvic ultrasound is performed to determine the condition of the internal organs of the abdominal cavity, including the kidneys, liver, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas, adrenal glands, bladder, prostate, female pelvic organs, large abdominal blood vessels, including the aorta and lymph nodes and intestines.
Abdominal ultrasound allows you to detect tumors and cysts (cysts) in the organs and often diagnose the source of the pain the patient is complaining about. We perform ultrasound examinations of the abdominal cavity to determine whether certain organs are enlarged, to assess their appearance, and in the case of pathologies – to assess the stage of the disease.
An abdominal ultrasound can also help us diagnose if there is fluid in the body and abdomen. During the examination, we are able to detect the presence of abdominal aortic aneurysms. Often the test is performed to confirm the correct morphology (no visible disease of the abdominal organs) or to differentiate the cause of pain.
