Hyaluronidase

Hyaluronidase is an enzyme that is used to help the patient during complications after dermal filler procedures. It is only available to doctors.

Whaty is hyaluronidase? How it dissolves filler?

Since hyaluronidase is an enzyme that occurs naturally in small amounts in the human body, hyaluronic acid fillings naturally decrease after several to several months. Sometimes, however, the effects after fillers are so unsatisfactory or may endanger health that they should be removed as soon as possible. The solution could be a treatment aimed at quick dissolution of hyaluronic acid. Properly applied hyaluronidase guarantees the effects almost immediately. Initially, however, they are hardly visible due to the accompanying temporary swelling. The actual result is available for inspection after about a week after the procedure. Due to the dissolving properties of hyaluronic acid implanted subcutaneously, a properly selected dose of hyaluronidase can be used for both partial and complete dissolution of the filling. The skin can therefore mostly regain its natural shape from before the filling or remain slightly deformed. This allows for the correction of the excessive amount of filler in cases of unintentional hypercorrection or over-correction of various areas, as well as the treatment of other complications occurring after the use of hyaluronic acid.

Many women who decide to use hyaluronic acid in the area of the tear trough, can struggle for years with the problem of persistent recurrent swelling under the eyes or purple unsightly discoloration at the site of the preparation deposit. This is nothing but the Tyndall effect. It arises as a result of incompetent, too superficial filler administration. On the other hand, the problem of puffiness and bags under the eyes is the result of inadequate qualification for the treatment or the use of an uncertified product. In our Clinic, patient interview and medical history are as important as the procedure itself. Extra consultation time and accuracy of diagnosis result in satisfactory treatment effects and patient satisfaction.

How does filler dissolve look like?

Dissolving hyaluronic acid is performed by a properly trained aesthetic medicine doctor. It uses a very fine needle which injects a small, precise amount of the enzyme subcutaneously at the site of hyaluronic acid application, such as the mouth, eye area, cheeks and nose. The procedure is relatively short – it takes an average of 15 to 20 minutes. It does not require anesthesia, but may temporarily cause discomfort. The enzyme breaks down hyaluronic acid molecules and is naturally metabolized and then excreted by the body. However, it is important to perform an allergic test first in order to rule out a possible allergic reaction.

Some people may not be able to dissolve hyaluronic acid, especially if they are allergic to the venom of hymenoptera such as wasps, bees or hornets. Then, if it is still necessary to administer hyaluronidase, the procedure is performed with full shock protection and with particularly high vigilance of doctors. Other contraindications are primarily chronic diseases and pregnancy. 1-2 weeks after the application of hyaluronidase, a follow-up visit takes place, during which the effects of the treatment are assessed. You can then decide to administer the next dose of enzyme. Recently, in our clinic, we encounter hyaluronidase-resistant lumps of hyaluronic acid – these are cases of patients after procedures by unauthorized people, with the use of fillers from an unknown source. That is why we repeatedly emphasize the importance of original, qualitatively tested products in appropriately qualified hands.

    Hyaluronidase price

Dissolving dermal fillers can comprise of one procedure or a series of treatments, the specificity of which is adapted to the individual case. For this reason, hyaluronidase treatments can cost around £500. It includes a detailed medical history interview, an allergy test, and a control visit. All this to provide each patient with the highest possible level of security and satisfaction with the results obtained. When it comes to our health and quality of life, when choosing a trusted and proven reputable aesthetic medicine clinic, the issue of price is not of primary importance, because our health is priceless and should be treated as a priority. At Eskulap clinic in London and Birmingham, we believe that it is much more important to have appropriate education and experience of the specialists performing the procedure, as well as to use proven preparations and not skip steps such as an allergy test or a control visit.
