Regulates the work of the digestive system, nervous system and skeletal system. It also affects the water-lipid balance and calcium phosphate. In addition, it can also control the rate of metabolic changes.

A common indication for thyroid ultrasound is suspected hypothyroidism (including Hashimoto’s disease) or hyperthyroidism (including Graves’ disease) and its inflammations: Riedl’s disease, postpartum thyroiditis and drug induced thyroiditis.
